Anyway I walked in around the 50th minute, while it was still 1-0. Then 2-0, 2-1, 3-1 and at the VERY LAST MINUTE 4-1. The match was so bad that some french people in the pub were clapping when holland scored the last goal. But most of them were just stumped after the game, looking quite defeated.

I became french for a day.
Ok lah, I don't think france played bad; Holland was just too good. My brazilian friend thinks otherwise though, and I had to remind him that Brazil lost the last two world cup matches against France. HAHAHA.

Thiery giving after-match commentary. Can see a super sian french seated in front of me. You have no idea how many times I heard 'putain' in the last 20 minutes.
On the way back, some people asked us for the score and they were shocked when they heard it. There was also one drunkard on the train that grabbed my arm, but my friends came to my rescue and pushed the guy away.
Let's hope france wins Italy.

You know you are becoming french when.... you start using a knife and fork to cut your ribs instead of using your hands to eat them. I didn't even know I was doing it until my singaporean friend Jinny (full time student here) told me it was easier to use hands to eat the ribs.
We went to a mexican restaurant before the match and had a plate of ribs+coleslaw+potato and a pitcher of rose for 17 euros each. Not bad.

The day I got stuck on the lift in Kane's block.

There was a GMC picnic (for mechanical engineering dept), and it was great! There was wine and rose (though they were the cheap/not nice type). There were yummy cakes, paella, and lots of food too. Plus the profs were there hanging out with the students.

Great stuff.

I finally bought an oyster knife. Cost me 1 euro, but works very well.
