After Bordeaux, FX and I took a train down to Toulouse!
Ohlalala. Toulouse, famous for having lots of students (third largest student population after paris and lyon), lots of artists, lots of engineers and of course, AIRBUS headquarters!!!!
We visited the Airbus factory (Jean-Luc Lagardere plant) and went for the airbus A380 tour, which is like, almost every mechanical engineer's dream!!! (Or at least that's what I think). Yes, visiting Toulouse is not complete without visiting the Airbus plant, located in a little ulu village outside of Toulouse.
I changed our train tickets to Toulouse JUST to fit in this tour.

I could not bring in my camera so I don't have any pictures of the factory. The tour was in french.
When we went into the workshop where they assembled the A380s, guess what?! The plane closest to us was an SIA PLANE!!! I was squealing like a schoolgirl who had just seen Brad Pitt's buttoms. At that point in time I felt SOO PROUD to be a singaporean; yes, we bought 10 x 50million euro planes!!! The guide also went on to say that SQ was the first to confirm the Airbus stats and that SQ is now flying the world's largest plane! WOOO!!! :D:D:D:D
*BEAMS*
Assembling area for the tour, which was impossible to find. In fact it is not easy to get to Jeanluc Lagardere plant if you don't drive.
My trip to airbus would be one of the more memorable things I did in France. =)
A few Belugas (A300-600ST) in the distance.
After the tour, we stopped by a little housing village in the outskirts of Toulouse to change bus.
Little park near the bus stop.
Fountain.
We went walking around Toulouse later on.
Place du Capitole
Strike going on in front of the place.:)
