Porto.
Porto has many lovely bridges and one loooong river cutting through the city.
Bridge.
We walked over the bridges a few times and it was quite an experience to do so. The view was spectacular and the wind up there was really strong.
Over at the other side of the bridge, there are loads of wine caves. Yes, the famous porto wine caves. We actually got this piece of advice to cross the bridge from fellow backpackers we met at Lisbon, because some totally missed out on the wine caves by not crossing the bridge.
Wine caves. Most of the tours are not free, but we were thick skinned enough to ask around for free tours, and found one cave that had free tours!
One great thing about this wine caves area is the free wines! You can just walk in and sample free wines, drink till you're jolly and saunter out. (Again, advice from the backpackers).
We tried about 9 different types of wines including green wine. I had about 12 glasses because I was helping Fengxue finish her wine. Yes, all freeee!
We went to check out the beach the next day. Nothing much, but at least it wasn't jammed packed with tourists (like in Barcelona's beach).
We saw a few surfers riding the wavesss.
Too cold to sun tan.
We got back to Lyon on the 1st of may, the "Fête du Travail" where everyone doesn't work and go on manifestations for pourvoir d'achetes. Shiooooooook. No bus, no metro, no tram, no taxis. So we had to walk from the train station back to school (3,8km), lugging our heavy backpacks (mine was 5kg, Fengxue's was 7kg)
