Heh, I think no one will want to travel with me after they see this picture. I drew this picture of my travel mate while she was sleeping on the train to Florence.
The campsite we stayed there was the worst I have ever stayed in. It was terribly cold at night (partly due to the fact that the campsite was perched on the mountain), and there was NO HEATER IN THE TENT (this is suicide during winter)!!! It got so bad that fengxue and I slept together on the same bed on the first night with 3 layers of blanket.
But the view from the camp was awesome.
Florence has 2 fake davids, one of them at Galleria Uffizi (where there are loads of other statues there). You can see part of the "FREE TIBET" red banner behind David. Don't ask me why or how this free tibet campaign is related to Italy.
We also visited the Uffizi museum (which houses. We had to line up for 2 hours to get in because we didn't make a reservation.
Ponte Vecchio, which was the only bridge in Florence that was not bombed during WW2. People would also put padlocks there and throw the keys into the river, sorta like locking their love eternally there. soooooooo lameeeeeeee.
Nice shot of the river.
View from Pizza Michelangelo. We met a Beijing TV producer (working in US) and we brought him up here. Nice guy, had dinner with him and listened to lots of his life stories. He treated us to beer, and wine later on at the campsite, overlooking the city at night.
Last but not least, the second david, atop pizza michelangelo. :)
