uncle jean-paul

There is a uncle that serves food in the resto that always greets me "Bon soir, mademoiselle de singapour!"(Good evening, mademoiselle of singapore) followed by some random comments that singapore is very far and the weather there is hot . It's quite surprising that he can remember me and where I come from (he asked me once).

Anyway, today he greeted me as usual. Later on at the end of the line, he came up to me and the aunty that checks the student cards announced loudly that he wanted to take an aeroplane with the aunty to singapore. The whole queue turned and started to stare at me. Yes, now the whole world knows i'm from singapore.

And that wasn't the end. Later on while I was happily eating my dinner (which was mutton, barley and long beans. BARLEY! yuck.), when he went up to the table next to mine and announced to the bunch of french seated there that he wanted to come to singapore.

I wanted to dig a hole and hide.
