coupe de France (OL vs sochaux)

I went the quarter finals of coupe de France, OL vs Sochaux at Stade de Garland on thursday night.

Match ticket! We bought 12 euro tickets at the middle block and got pretty good seats! It wasn't full house though.


Outside of the stadium. Upon entering, I realized that the stadium wasn't THAT big. It's actually really small, much much smaller than the now defunct Kallang.



Kicked off at 9pm. There were no goals in the first half, and my stand was the quiet stand where everyone just sat and watched the game. There was a small stand for standing spectators who provided the noise and entertainment.



This weird squirrel came out during halftime to dance.


The second half was more exciting. The first goal came in the 55th minute grace a Benzema, giving OL the 1-0 lead.

Then when I thought it was a win, an equalizer came in the 89th minute!!!! GEEZ!!! The whole stadium went really quiet after that, everyone being filled with dread.

And when we thought all was over, Benzema scored again in the 90th minute!!! Wah, that was insane. The whole crowd went crazy, and I was whacking yuvraj because I was so happy. Yea, the whole stadium was jumping and cheering.

Yea what a way to end the match!!! The goals were pretty clumsy though. They were those goalkeeper-screw-up kind of goals. And the stadium screen didn't show goal replays too. :( It was also kinda weird watching a soccer game without the live commentary.
