The meeting place for that day was Bellcour (yes, the LV road), in front of the Louis XIV statue.

Weather was nice but COLD

Nice blue sky.
My group consisted of 3 girls- me, alejandra (mexican) and Taiane (brazillian)

Taiane, me, My french teacher aurelie and Alejandra. Those two hands behind me belong to ben. -___-
thanks arh.
There are two rivers that run through france - La Rhone and La Saone.

This is La Saone. The two rivers join somewhere down stream in Lyon and the single stream (called la rhone) goes to the sea.

That castle behind me is not disneyland castle. It's another must see in Lyon. Its the basilique notre-dame de fourviere, which was built on top of a hill.

Nice golden statue on top. If 'notre-dame' sounds very familiar, well, every ville in france has a notre-dame (grand catholic church). The one in paris is particularly famous because of that movie "the hunch back of notre-dame".
From Bellcour, we crossed the Saone to scoure for clues in the other side of the river at vieux lyon. It was a good way to explore lyon because our teacher (who stays in vieux lyon) designed the clues such that we get to explore the whole road along with the highlights of the place.

Roads of Vieux Lyon. We even had to be thick skin and ask people question about history, reasons for names, directions.

St James cathedral at the foot of the hill. Out of respect for the people praying in there, I didn't use flash to take pictures in its premises. As a result, my pictures taken in the cathedral didn't turn out very nice.

CHECK OUT THE ORGAN!!!!!!

Big clock in the cathedral. Every 12, 2, 3, 4pm, the little figurines on top of the clock will dance. There is also an old man who knows a lot about clocks who will be there every noon and he will tell you everything about the history and the works of this clock.

Statue of a saint.

Beautiful paintings.

This is the back of the church. The pictures I took of the front of the church came out blur.
Will continue with more tomorrow.

Ok the greve went on as planned, boo for us. Lunch at the big resto(restaurant aka canteen) was good; the beef was actually COOKED for once. No blood oozing out when cut.
What surprised me was dinner. For some reason, all the cooks at the big resto (which is the only resto that is opened for dinner) were on strike for dinner. Half day strike?
As a result, we had packed dinner given out at the resto.

So LITTLE FOOD!!! BAH. I went back and cooked more food for myself.
I will be going to Avignon and Nimes this weekend. yay!
