bellcour part 1

Bellcour is the shopping street of Lyon. Went there on Sat to check out the sales. There were sales everywhere man. Zara, H&M, blablablablabl. Boots were going for as cheap as 10 euros. Coats too. Cheap cheap! Too bad the LV there didn't have sales. BOOHOO.

Anyway some pictures before the trip there:

Le PREVERT. I initially thought it was Le pervert. This is where we have our meals everyday. Yes, yucky couscous. bleah. A french guy was saying that school food is not a representation of food in france. Thank goodness.

The Tram. In certain cities in france, you can travel by tram, bus or metro. Or of course, taxi, which no one takes because it's too ex. Tram is driven by electric cables on top, very much like those in the US. And INSA students can work driving the metro, earning about 100euros/day for 7hours of work. good right?

The underground Metro station.

I took photo with a green statue. There are statues everywhere and I love them because most of them don't wear clothes.

Photobucket
Charles' Angels: me, Fx, Derryn at the mouth of Victor Hugo lane. I know I know I seem to wear the same stuff in all the photos. can't help it coz I only have 1 thick and 1 thinner jacket. So much for being a fashionista.

Can drink Coffee and memorize carnot cycles. HEe hee. Oh there is an amphere museum here in lyon. Apparently he was born here. SO EXCITING.

I dunno who is this dude is but he sure looks good in statue form! From left: Derryn, Wanqing and me!

Even Fnac (the shop where I was supposed to buy my soccer tickets from) has half naked cermic people guarding it's entrance.

Photobucket
Even the construction nettings are in the french national colours!

At one of the big concorses, we saw this really talented dude doing some spray paintings.

We stood in front of him and watched (along with one big crowd) him do this particular piece. We didn't buy it though; just watch for free. :)

After walking for a damn long time, we headed off for lunch. This was the first meal I had out of school and.... it was in macdonalds. I KNOW. I come all the way to france to eat macdonalds, very sad right? Too bad all the other food here is too expensive, though I intend to try kebabs one day.

Freaking macdonalds queue was chaotic. I dunno why, but the people don't seem to know how to queue sometimes. And in Europe, if you need to pee, there are no free toilets, so what you can do is go to a macdonalds and buy a pack of fries. You'll need to receipt to access their toilets.

And sad to say, even their macdonald meals are not cheap. My mcchicken set cost 5.60EUROS. That is like 11.20SGD!!!!! But we had no choice. Hungry, tired, in need of a toilet and poor, this was our best choice.

Ohhhh. You have no idea how much I miss fried food. :(
